EPS: Pension for Private Sector Employees, Need to Know

Courtesy: ET Online (www.economictimes.indiatimes.com/personal-finance) Matter is fully copy and pasted from the link for the future help of blogger himself and his valued readers and visitors. No other intentions are involved in respect of copy-paste of the following article:

His employers have put in nearly Rs 85,000 in a scheme on his behalf but Prashant Jangale does not know how, when or what he will get in return. The Mumbai-based marketing professional's employers have contributed Rs 541 per month to the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) since 2001. Till ET Wealth told him about this benefit last week, Jangale was clueless that he and his homemaker wife are eligible for monthly pension for life after he turns 58.

He is not alone. Almost 59% of the respondents to an online survey conducted last week by economictimes. com were unaware that private-sector employees covered by the Employees' Provident Fund are also eligible for lifelong pension (see survey). More than 30% of these respondents have contributed between Rs 65,000 and Rs 1 lakh to the EPS till now.

The amount flowing into the EPS every month is so small that most don't even notice the deduction. It is 8.33% of the employer's contribution to the EPF on behalf of the employee, with a cap of Rs 6,500 a year. Even so, the monthly contribution of Rs 541 has the potential to amass a huge sum over the long term. Even at a modest interest rate of 8%, this tiny amount can burgeon into Rs 12.41 lakh in 35 years.

Sadly, this is not what happens to your contribution to the scheme. The amount just flows into a pension pool without earning any interest for you. If you have completed at least 10 years of service, you start getting pension from this pool after you turn 58. The pension amount is based on the number of years you had contributed to the scheme and your basic pay at the time of retirement. Here again there is a cap of Rs 6,500. If you were in service for 20 years or more, you get 2 bonus years as well.

WAY TO LATAGURI

Our experience was awesome while on the way from NJP railway station (Siliguri) to Lataguri. But that was on the fun part and among very close to heart friends any experience is best experience of life which is out of home and in a holiday and being in great mood.
But my concern is different over here. This is the one of the main road which connects Dooar's area of North Bengal, mostly Jungle area and one of the prime area of West Bengal other than Sundarban which have Jungle and attract tourists even from outside India and Saarc Countries. Being a Bengali, I have great regrets of showcase this video. If this is the condition of some prime area or main connecting roads of important areas of the state then forget tourist or any tourism activities how government will work??? How a physically ill or emergency patient will reach to the hospital? There is almost 100% guarantee that any patient who is serious, would not be reach to the hospital safely because no street light or even electrification polls also not present besides the road..... This is not a post to criticize anyone but to cover what is the real scenario and to showcase the areas of improvement.
This time of roads neither help bringing students to school, patients to hospital nor the tourist and please forget about industry by any chance or GOD's egress. Please improve the situation with immediate effect at least for the sake of good governance and decent life style.

The Decision (After long 7 years)

Why all Bad things comes with Good Packages???

I am a true professional during the time of taking major decisions... I always talk to myself and try to figure out which way is ethical and will produce results in my favor... Till date, I have taken many major decisions regarding my life which includes our family decisions as well... In between I met DADA (Sourav Ganguly) and got a opportunity to interact with him personally... which strengthens my self believe in this regard. I do not have any second thought regarding any of my decisions till date apart of one decision which I took 7 years back.....

Still I am 99.999% confident that I have taken a right decision at that point in time at the age of 17 only. But that 0.001% still poke me at Heart!!! Which asks "Was your decision right? Think Kunal, Think Again" and goes LOL on me.....

It taught me today, during this 7 years span that how much I try to be a "Man of Steel" or a "Perfect Decision Maker" from all shapes and corners, I only remain as an human being who is a 99.999% "Professional" at mind but 0.001% "Human" at heart... regarding decision making...

It proves that how much try to be a professional, Its of no use... Im an Human at the end of day who loves to listen to his heart... I dont know it is good or ugly but I realized this...

There is no point writing essay on myself on FB, I am not a celeb in any ways (and do not want to be any day in near future as well.. :P ) ... This passage should be written in my Blog or Diary for self reading. I know it very well. Very few people have the patience to read this long status, I know that too. But I that 0.001% of myself encouraged me to share this feeling with you guys publicly... So, I did it, without giving a second thought... Thanks for your patience reading and for not asking what was that particular decision I took 7 years back ...

Happy Weekend Guys... :) :)

Indian Government: Action Against Porn Websites

Indian Government Bans 39 Porn Websites

Pornography is easily one of the most sorted topics on the Internet. It has been credited to being one of the driving forces behind the expansion of the World Wide Web. Reportedly over 12 % of the websites online are porn websites and 25% of the search engine requests Pornographic related.
Pornography has different legal standing in different countries. While watching or distributing child pornography is illegal in India, adult porn is not. In recent turn of events, the government of India has imposed a ban on certain websites that allow users to share pornographic content.
Department Of Telecom (DoT) has directed internet service providers to block 39 websites. Most of theses websites are reportedly web forums where users share images and links to downloadable content. A few sites which are basically file hosts that store both pornographic and non-pornographic content have also been banned.
According to report by Times Of India, the website that have been blocked are hosted outside India and apparently come under 18 USC 2257 rule enforced by the US. As per the rule producers of pornographic material are required to have records showing that the performers are over 18 years of age at the time of video or photo shoot.
The directive issued bu DoT reads “It has been decided to immediately block the access to the following URLs… you are accordingly directed to immediately block the access to above URLs,”. However the department has not specified reasons or laws behind which these websites have been blocked.
When you try to access these websites, you will either get a blank page or a message telling “this website has been blocked until further notice either pursuant to court orders or on the directions issued by the Department of Telecommunications”.
A senior DoT official told Times Of India that the department was only following the orders issued by cyber security coordination committee and therefore he could not discuss about the reasons behind the block.
Some people might say this is going overboard, but in the end people of India can only access media content that the government will allow them to. TV watching experience is already being ruined by ridiculous censorship, now it’s internet’s turn to get some belting.
Sunil Abraham, director of CIS said ” I have travelled to China and Middle East and have seen that people access pornographic websites using various web tools. In fact, by banning websites the governments have made it more alluring or users to watch and access pornography”.
